to the Cymmer Ward Communities First Lifelong Learning page.
Aiming High
is a two week programme of development & training
opportunities delivered in the community. All courses
are FREE and are offered on a first come first served
basis to all community members aged 14+. Courses include
Basic DIY, Introduction to Youth Work, Food Hygiene,
Lets Cook and Managing Behaviour in children sessions.

Bridges Into Work
Bridges into work is a European Funded project which
helps to support local people to gain skills and
confidence to help them move towards work. If you are
not in full time education and are unemployed the team
will help you to complete an individual Learning Action
Plan which will lead you to a range of FREE course,
which could include IT, Presentation Skills, Confidence
Building, Vocational Training and also more Formal

Want 2 Work
Support is available to all unemployed Cymmer ward
residents who are either in receipt of incapacity
benefit, employment support allowance, sever disablement
allowance, income support or those who receive no
benefits. If you want 2 work, want 2 train, want 2
volunteer or just want 2 gain new skills of confidence
then call in to see your local advisors Alison & Lisa
at: Porth One4All centre, Bronwydd House, Porth. Every

Courses for the Community - What do you fancy?
In recent months various members of the community have
been asking if Cymmer Ward Communities First will be
able to help provide different types of lifelong
learning within their community. Top of the suggestions
include Parent & Toddler First Aid, Food Hygiene,
Beginners Welsh and Keep Fit. Would you be interested?

Dai Davies Art Club
The ever popular Dai Davies Art Club has restarted in partnership with Cymmer
Ward Communities First. If your a beginner or a Picasso
then go along and enjoy an afternoon of painting and
drawing. The group meets every Friday at the Dai Davies
Community Centre, Cymmer from 1:30pm until 3:30pm. No
previous experience is required and refreshments and
some limited equipment are available free of charge.
readySETgo
Is an organisation providing free courses to women
aged 16+ to encourage them into non traditional training
and employment. The organisation is part funded by
Chwarae Teg, Careers Wales, ELWa and the European Union.
