  • Summer Activities '07
Two Rockschool Activities at Trehafod Community Hall were a great success; as were the Rugby Skills sessions run by Sport Train in Edmondstown and Ferndale.

We also ran a Hair & Beauty workshop in Trehafod Community Hall.

In addition, we organised 2 Soccer Skills sessions at Ysgol Gyfun Cymmer which were run by Cardiff City in the Community.

All of these summer activities were well attended and attracted young people, not only from the Cymmer Ward, but from all over RCT.

After a successful February Half Term of activities (which included Mobile Rock Climbing, Metal Sculpture, Clay Modelling) we again co-ordinated the above sessions through partnership working with Fframwaith/RCT Out Of Hours Learning/CF Areas 5,6/Penrhys Summer Skillz programme.

The Freestylers Dance Group went on a residential to West Wales as part of a video project they are undertaking. They will be joining with other dance groups to perform a show later in the year.

We are funding dance sessions for the Trehafod Youth Club dance group starting in October, with the hope that they can recruit new members and participate in the same show as the Freestylers.
